A group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators at the University of Mississippi found themselves surrounded by a larger and more raucous assembly of Zionists protestors on Thursday. Police intervention became necessary, in order to escort the pro-Palestinian protestors into a nearby building for their safety.
Videos circulating on social media depict the larger crowd, consisting of approximately 200 predominantly white individuals, encircling and overpowering the multi-racial group of 30 to 60 pro-Palestinian protesters.
In one video, the counter protestors can be seen singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” to drown out the chants of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
Another video captures a sizeable gathering of men, including two male students dressed in American flag overalls, directing verbal abuse towards a Black female graduate student and making vile, racist monkey noises.
