- The Turkish Trade Ministry has declared the suspension of all export and import activities with Israel.

Türkiye has suspended trade exchanges with Israel, as per the announcement by the Turkish Ministry of Trade citing, “the worsening humanitarian tragedy” in Gaza.”
“Export and import transactions related to Israel have been stopped, covering all products,” the ministry articulated in a statement on Thursday.
“Türkiye will strictly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israeli Government allows an uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza,” he said.
The declaration followed remarks from Israel’s foreign minister, who accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of violating agreements by obstructing ports from managing Israeli imports and exports.
Katz said he instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work to create alternatives for trade with Türkiye focusing on local production and imports from other countries.
Last month, Türkiye imposed trade constraints on Israel, citing Israel’s denial of Ankara’s participation in aid airdrops to Gaza and its military operations in the enclave.
The ministry asserted that almost 35,000 Palestinian civilians, including 15,000 children, have perished, and around 78,000 Palestinian citizens have sustained injuries due to Israel’s assaults on Palestine, breaching international law and human rights.
In 2023, the trade between the two nations amounted to a volume of $6.8 billion.
