• Stormzy has faced backlash for deleting a pro-Palestinian Instagram post just days before launching his McDonald’s collaboration.
• Despite his previous support for Palestine, including donating gig ticket proceeds to aid Gaza and Sudan, Stormzy’s actions have left fans confused.
The public is left thoroughly perplexed after Stormzy deleted a pro-Palestinian Instagram post just days before unveiling his latest collaboration with McDonald’s.
The British rapper, 30, has faced backlash across social media for removing a post from a year ago in which he wrote:
“I hope everyone is good, some fleeting thoughts. 1. Free Palestine. 2. In the future, if there is ever a clear injustice in the world, no matter how big or small, 100 times out of 100 I will always be on the side of the oppressed. Unequivocally. As I always have been.”

However, shortly before the release of his “Famous Order” campaign with McDonald’s—a corporation previously criticised for its support of the Israeli Defence Forces—Stormzy’s post disappeared from his profile.
This follows intense criticism when backlash sparked in October due to McDonald’s Israel announcing it had donated thousands of free meals to IDF soldiers involved in the ongoing massacre of Palestinians, many of whom called for a consumer boycott. McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski later acknowledged that several markets in the Middle East and beyond were experiencing a “meaningful business impact” due to these boycott movements.
Major Western fast-food chains such as McDonald’s and Starbucks have been the targets of grassroots boycott campaigns over pro-Israeli sympathies and financial links to Israel.

Stormzy has firmly established himself as a powerful advocate for the people, consistently using his platform to confront injustice and champion their cause, making his recent actions all the more shocking to many.

Furthermore, he has previously demonstrated his support for Palestine by directing proceeds from select gig ticket sales to humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza and Sudan.

The South London rapper, who famously headlined Glastonbury in 2019, now joins the ranks of other musicians— such as Travis Scott, J Balvin, BTS, and Mariah Carey—who have launched signature meals through McDonald’s. His “Famous Order” includes nine Chicken McNuggets accompanied by McDonald’s Fries, two BBQ Dips, an Oreo McFlurry or Apple Pie, and a Sprite Zero. Customers ordering Stormzy’s meal in-store will also receive a limited-edition set of stickers to customize their devices in #BigMike style.

Speaking about the campaign, Stormzy said:
“I am so gassed for my McDonald’s order to be the first ever ‘Famous Order’ in the UK and Ireland. Never thought I’d have my own order on the official menu. That’s mad.”
Ben Fox, Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald’s UK & Ireland, commented:
“Stormzy is a McDonald’s fan through and through and a true global icon. This makes him the perfect superstar to bring to life the fact that no matter how famous you are, everyone has a favourite go-to McDonald’s order. Introducing Stormzy’s signature order is an incredible moment for the brand—two icons colliding—giving everyone the chance to eat just like Big Mike and, if they’re lucky, score some exclusive merch.”
46,707 Palestinians Killed by the Bloodthirsty Israeli regime
In the past 16 months, at least 46,707 Palestinians in Gaza have been brutally murdered, which includes 18,000 children. The death toll means that one out of every 50 people has been killed in Gaza. However, the prestigious lancet Journal asserts that the Gaza death toll is 40% higher than the official number.
For those steadfast in their boycott of this utterly just cause, remember boycotts drive change, as we were powerfully reminded just yesterday:
