A 45 year old IDF member who served in the army since 1999 was killed by a shark in Occupied Palestine.

The Israeli soldier was snorkelling at the time of the attack. Following a two day search operation, his remains were found.

On Monday, 21st April, a shark fatally attacked an Israeli army reservist off the coast of Khdeira (Hadera), Occupied Palestine. Barak Tzach, 45, was a member of Battalion 8207 of the Northern Nahal Brigade, which has been actively involved in operations in South Lebanon and Gaza during the ongoing genocide. Tzach served in the IDF since 1999.

Tzach’s wife said that he had been snorkelling alone with a GoPro, attempting to film sharks, when the attack occurred. His remains were recovered today, approximately 250 meters from the site of the incident, following a two-day search.

Footage from the day of the attack shows a large shark swimming past children and beachgoers in shallow water before moving toward deeper seas, where it encountered Tzach.

A witness at the scene was heard speaking in Arabic, saying, “I saw a lot of blood. The shark ate someone. It tore him a part. I heard someone screaming, ‘Save me, save me!’”

Earlier this year, another Israeli diver, Almog Atar, was also attacked by a shark, despite the species not typically preying on humans.
