  • The visual recording of an employee garbed in a blue and purple dress, extending a welcome to a young visitor at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique situated in Anaheim, California, has gone viral over various social media platforms.
  • Parents and critics have voiced their criticism of Disney, declaring the male employees costume as inappropriate.

A male Disneyland employee portraying a ‘Fairy Godmother’s apprentice’ has drawn criticism, sparking calls for a boycott of the resort. Filmed in Anaheim, California, the worker can be seen wearing a blue and purple dress, alongside his moustache, as he welcomes a young girl to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Whilst some social media users praised the worker for a memorable experience, critics have labelled Disney’s decision to permit him to wear a dress as ‘inappropriate’, taking to social media to express their opposition.

Previously referred to as ‘Fairy Godmothers in Training’, the company changed the role name to ‘Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices’ last year to be more inclusive. However, this polarising incident highlights the potential consequences of woke changes in the pursuit of progress.

The viral clip shows the Disney employee dressed up as a ‘Fairy Godmother’s apprentice’ and wearing matching eyeshadow.

‘So, my name is Nick, I am one of the fairy godmother’s apprentices,’ he says while welcoming a little girl to the store.

‘I’m here to shop you around and make all your selections for the day.’

It was viewed more than 7.6 million times since it was posted on May 26 and has been met with huge backlash.

As we see, contemporary society is in dire need of well-defined gender roles, now more than ever. As we have observed on multiple occasions, any ambiguity will only lead to the confusion of children; Islam is a way of life which clearly defines gender roles and prohibits for men and women to imitate one another.

Amongst the recent surge of public figures who have embraced Islam, a notable portion have attributed their conversion to the clear-cut gender roles espoused by the faith; Sneako represents an exemplar of the aforementioned group.

Speaking to Pearl Davis on her youtube channel ‘Just Pearly things’ , content creator Sneako (Nico Kenn De Ballinthazy), explains that he embraced Islam due to the simplicity of Tawhid (pure monotheism). However, he also explained another reason for his conversion was because “….they are really strict on their roles of masculinity and femininity- on the differences between men and women, on our roles and what we should  be doing”.

Islam defines gender roles distinctly through various references in the Quran and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad saw). For example, Allah says in the Quran,

“Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by Allah over women and tasked with supporting them financially. And righteous women are devoutly obedient and, when alone, protective of what Allah has entrusted them with….”

(Quran 4:34)

  1. This seem like a conservative Christian news blog. It has all the same talking points, except instead of Bible verses it has Quranic verses.

    Anyway, good luck regardless.
