According to statements from the Al-Qassam Brigades, fourteen Israeli soldiers were killed and others were injured in the southern Gaza area of Khan Yunis on Saturday.
The operation was conducted by the military wing of the Hamas movement, showcasing the increasing power of the Resistance in southern Gaza.
As per Al-Qassam’s report, nine Israeli soldiers were killed with others injured in the Zanna vicinity, situated to the east of Khan Yunis. This outcome stemmed directly from the targeting of four Israeli Merkava tanks employing Yassin 105 anti-armor projectiles.
The fighters appeared to stay in the vicinity until another Israeli unit arrived for assistance, only to encounter a pre-prepared minefield. According to the statement, three significant anti-personnel devices detonated simultaneously among the soldiers.
Al-Qassam further stated that it successfully targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a Yassin 105. Additionally, it reported detonating an explosive device among Israeli soldiers, resulting in casualties among them.
According to Al-Jazeera, three Israeli military helicopters were observed in the vicinity, presumably to evacuate casualties, both killed and injured.
In its statement, the Al-Quds Brigades mentioned launching mortar shells at an Israeli gathering in the heart of Khan Yunis. The group also highlighted its fighters’ active participation in intense clashes alongside Al-Qassam in the region.
Additionally, the Al-Quds Brigades circulated a video depicting its fighters engaging with Israeli soldiers in northern Gaza to commemorate International Quds Day, observed on April 5th.
The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the PFLP, stated that they have launched mortar shells at the Al-Matahan area located to the east of Khan Yunis.
Reports also indicate that the Brigades have launched a rocket barrage targeting the Israeli settlement of Kissufim.
