  • A knife attack in London left two Jewish victims seriously injured, while reports also allege the same suspect attempted to murder a Muslim earlier the same day. It is concerning that this aspect is being ignored in the mainstream media.

On Wednesday, the attack in Golders Green, London, which left two Jewish victims with serious stab wounds, was a horrific act of violence directed at civilian life. The victims were named as Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76.

Essa Suleiaman, a 45-year-old British-Somali has been arrested for the heinous act.

Yesterday, a vigil for the two non-deceased victims took place outside ten downing street, where former Tory MP, Jacob Rees Mogg delivered a speech declaring that Britain is “failing to protect its older Jewish brothers.”

Following the incident, Commissioner of the Metropolitan police, Sir Mark Rowley said that a special police force was required to protect the Jewish community.

Moreover, the mainstream media has been saturated with headlines concerning antisemitism.

However, amid its reporting, the mainstream media conveniently obscured a crucial detail: earlier that same day, Suleiman had allegedly attempted to murder a Muslim man he had known for twenty years – Ishmail Hussein. The attempted attack reportedly took place on Great Dover Street in Southwark, where police later raided the premises. Furthermore, Suleiman has been charged with three counts of attempted murder (not two) as well as possession of a bladed article.

The Metropolitan Police stated that Suleiman had a documented history of serious violence and mental health issues, and may also have been connected to a prior incident on the Tuesday before the attack. This is another significant detail that the mainstream media appeared reluctant to emphasise. Historically, such information would likely have dominated headlines had the perpetrator been white. Reports also indicate that, in 2018, Suleiman assaulted a police officer and a police dog. Viewed in its totality, the details surrounding this particular case point less toward a coherent ideological motive and more toward a pattern of profound personal instability.

Regardless of the intended motive behind these attacks, it is morally indefensible to deliberately ignore the fact that a Muslim victim was also targeted on the very same day.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said she did not agree that attacks against Jewish people amounted to a national emergency, but insisted the government was treating the issue as an “absolute emergency”
