The esteemed Professor Finkelstein, a long-standing critic of Israel’s genocidal actions and settler-colonial practices, has become a target of vile Zionist thuggery.
The Zionist extremist group ‘Betar’ harassed Norman Finkelstein on the streets of New York by planting a pager in his pocket. The incident was captured, when the extremist was heard saying “Hey, here’s your pager Norman!”
The 71-year-old seemed startled, not realising what was going on.
The attackers’ reference to the “pager” alludes to the 2024 Israeli terrorist attack in Lebanon, during which explosive-laden pagers and walkie-talkies were employed, resulting in the murder of at least 42, and over 3,500 civilian injuries.
Dr Norman Finkelstein, an American Jewish political scientist and Holocaust expert, received a warm welcome and a standing ovation from his audience at the Global Peace and Unity conference in London last year. The event is organised by Muslims. At the event, he addressed what he termed the “Piers Morgan questions,” pointing out the tendency of many Zionists to overlook events prior to October 7th.
During a public lecture at the University of Waterloo, Dr Finkelstein engaged with a Jewish student who expressed offence at his remarks comparing “Jews to Nazis,” leading the student to tears. Being a Jew himself, Finkelstein was in fact, comparing Zionists to Nazis.
Dr Finkelstein responded with the following:
Dr Finkelstein responded with the following: I don’t respect that any more, I really don't. I don't like and I don't respect the crocodile tears. I don't like to play to a foreign audience the Holocaust part but since now I feel compelled to - my late father was in Auschwitz, my late mother ... please shut-up (applause) my late father was in Auschwitz my late mother was in Mgdonevice concentration camp - every single member of my family on both sides were exterminated, both my parents were in the Warsaw Ghetto. They taught me and my two siblings that I will not be silenced by Israel over their crimes against Palestinians. I consider nothing more despicable than to use their suffering and their martyrdom to try to justify the torture the brutalization and the demolition of homes commits against the Palestinians. I refuse any more to be intimidated to be browbeaten by the tears, if you had any heart in you, you would be crying for the Palestinians.
Dr Finkelstein has dedicated many of his years to tirelessly advocating for justice and the freedom of the Palestinians. He has done so respectfully in an academic arena. Moreover, without resulting to thuggery with those he disagrees with. Dr Finkelstein’s publications on Palestine include, ‘Image and Reality over Israel-Palestine conflict’, and ‘Gaza: An inquest into it’s martyrdom’
