● Communities being invaded and intimidated by armed settlers and soldiers
● The ethnic cleaning is also very much happening in the West Bank while no one seems to notice
While all the world media are concentrated on the genocide happening in Gaza, armed settlers supported by Israeli soldiers have been intimidating the population of the West Bank.
Settlers pretending to be soldiers have also been invading schools in a bid to scare the population and force them to leave.
Even before the war started, there had been at least 200 Palestinians killed in the West Bank, making 2023 the worst year for settler violence since the UN started keeping track of it.
In the 2 weeks following the attack of the 7th of October, at least 84 Palestinians have been killed, 1,300 injured and healthcare facilities have been attacked 77 times.
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s national security minister and member of the far-right group Otzma Yehudit that promotes Jewish Supremacy, has offered 10,000 rifles to settlers.
They seem to be making good use of it since for the same period, well over 700 Palestinians he been abducted from the West Bank, 25% of whom are children, elderly people, and patients.
More than 6,000 Palestinians have been abducted since the beginning of 2023.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of the exactions against the West Bank Population:
● Gas bombs and concussion grenades fired into a girl’s school.
● The hospital in Jerusalem was invaded by Israeli soldiers and some patients like Mohammad Abu Mayyala were abducted.
● The town of Tarqoumia was invaded, soldiers illegally entered houses and apartments, as well as invaded a mourning house. The protesting crowd was fired at with rubber-coated steel bullets and attacked with gas bombs.
● A Palestinian family of 9 was thrown out of their home in Beit Hanina and their home was destroyed. They were not given any time to remove anything from it before its destruction.
● Israel has been using emergency laws, enabling the demolition of buildings without official procedures.
The West Bank has been occupied since 1967. Very much like Gaza, its inhabitants are prisoners since all entrances and exits are controlled by Israeli soldiers.
Most people in the West Bank escaped the ethnic cleansing that happened when Israel was created and when they were forced out of their homes and land. Now, the ethnic cleaning continues.
Surprisingly, NATO Army General Michel Yakovleff expressed his concern for the West Bank on French television, saying that no one is paying attention to what is happening there right now.
He mentioned 3 Anglo-Saxon newspapers that cover the exactions committed by Israeli settlers and soldiers in the West Bank, saying that those newspapers cannot be suspected to be anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. He said that CNN, the Economist, and the Washington Post have reported racist murders of Palestinians. He explained that when those murders are repetitive and committed I order to make people leave, we are in the same case as Bosnia and this is clearly ethnic cleansing. People are forced to leave or are killed.
He added that in spite of the Israeli propaganda, he can assert that hundreds of Palestinians who have been murdered were not terrorists but unarmed civilians.
Regarding the question of whether those murders were committed by Israeli soldiers or Israeli settlers, he answered that Israeli settlers are committing them with the blessing of Israeli soldiers and sometimes with their complicity.
Former French ambassador in Israel from 2003 to 2006, Gérard Araud, also speaks of ethnic cleansing and alerts of the situation in the West Bank.
“Villages are being emptied, armed settlers commit invasions [in the West bank] with the help of Israeli soldiers and it is clearly an ethnic cleaning” he declared last Wednesday, responding to the French ultra-Zionist politician, Meyer Habib.
Gérard Araud also stated on social media that “the Israeli occupation of the West Bank is a violation of international law and is a major threat to any perspective of peace in the region”.
When he retired from his diplomatic career in 2019, he had declared that Israel was an apartheid state.
More and more voices can be heard against Israel in international media more condemnations and real actions from Arab and Muslim nations are still missing.
