In New York, thousands of Muslims congregated in the sacred month of Ramadan on Sunday evening. Converging in the iconic Times Square, they commenced their inaugural Tarawih prayer.

At the event, numerous Qur’ans were distributed in the English language. Additionally, Brother SQ addressed the Christian community (who may have been passers by at the time). He spoke about the Bible and emphasised how Islam is the final revelation of God.
Surah Al-Fatiha and Ayat al-Kursi were recited in congregation, the voices of Muslims amplified through New York Street. Additionally, children took turns reciting various verses of the Qur’an over the microphone.
Following their supplications, Muslims in New York fervently offered dua for Gaza. Brother SQ prompted the crowd to chant, “Ceasfire now!”
Prayers for Palestine persist accross the globe as Gaza has been enduring relentless Israeli bombardment since October 7, 2023. Almost 31,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, with over 72,500 others sustaining injuries amidst widespread devastation and dire shortages.
