Israeli forces have forcibly displaced 26,000 Palestinians from Jenin and Tulkarm during a large-scale military assault, destroying over 100 homes.

Israel has killed at least 70 Palestinians in the West Bank this year. Palestinian families are hosting individuals amid severe shortages of electricity, water & healthcare.

The Israeli military has forcibly displaced 26,000 Palestinians from their homes in Jenin and Tulkarm since launching a large-scale violent assault on the occupied West Bank last month.

The Israeli army claims it has launched a counterterrorism operation targeting Palestinian fighters. However, the forcible displacement of 26,000 Palestinians underscores, once again, that such justifications lack credibility and serve only to mask Israel’s abhorrent crimes against humanity and grave violations of human rights.

Farha Abu al-Haija, a representative of the Popular Committee in Jenin Camp, stated that 17,000 residents have been driven out of the camp, which houses over 24,000 registered Palestinian refugees.

For the past two weeks, Israeli forces have besieged, brutally and illegally invaded, and bombed the camp and its surrounding areas. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) reported that significant portions of the camp have been completely levelled by explosions, with at least 100 homes either destroyed or severely damaged.

On Sunday, Palestinian state media reported that Israeli forces simultaneously detonated nearly 20 buildings on the camp’s eastern side after rigging them with explosives. The Israeli army has detonated homes in Jenin, Tulkarem, and now Nablus.

Israeli forces have restricted movement within the area, forcing residents to flee amidst heavy shelling and explosions.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that at least 70 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since the beginning of the year. Many Palestinian families are now sheltering up to 20 displaced individuals in their homes, despite facing severe shortages of basic necessities like electricity and water.

In a recent report, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) stated that the healthcare system in the occupied West Bank has been in “a state of perpetual emergency” since October 2023.
