• Israeli soldier outlines his mission in Gaza and what the IDF’s genocidal objectives were

• The genocidal tendencies that Israel has played into the minds of its people

In an interview with the TVE channel, Yehuda Lopez, an Israeli soldier of Latin origin, outlined his given objectives while on the frontlines for the IDF. Yehud Lopez was mobilised into the Israeli army at the age of 20 after the October 7th attacks. He said that ‘every day there was injury or a death’ with one of his comrades falling on the last day before he was due to leave. He was later asked about the civilian victims in Gaza, including the women and children. He then unnervingly said, ‘There are no innocents there. We have to get that into our heads’.

Yehuda Lopez’s opinions are not surprising, as Israel has already institutionalised its anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian tendencies amongst its population. From having a school curriculum where many books depict Palestinians as terrorists, refugees, and primitive farmers, to having an entire media establishment justifying and calling for the ongoing genocide in Gaza to continue, to having high-profile politicians supporting and even directly voicing for a genocide to continue, it becomes apparent that Israel is and has always been a breeding ground for terrorists.

The opinions of Yehuda Lopez are not surprising, as according to recent opinion polls by the Israel Institute of Democracy, the majority support the continuous onslaught in Gaza, even after the deaths of more than 28,000 people and the starvation of the entirety of the Gaza strip. Lopez’s genocidal views are those held by either the majority or a significant proportion of Israelis.

Israel’s objectives exposed

Lopez had said later in the interview that his battalion’s main mission was to cut northern Gaza from the south and prevent anyone from entering the area. He later said that ‘if they approach, we kill each other’. This indicates that Israel truly had no plans on allowing the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Northern Gaza to flee to Southern Gaza but rather thought it would be better to kill anyone who tries to do so. This shows the malicious mindset that the Israeli military has ingrained within it in its endeavours against Palestinians and outlines the auspicious Israeli mindset in action.

Near the end of the interview, Lopez was asked, ‘How will this end?’. His response was ‘hopefully, with a crushing defeat, that no one remains there’. This outlines Israel’s ambitions for ethnic cleansing, either in the form of complete population displacement or complete population annihilation. The looming offensive on Rafah is an indication that Israel plans on pushing the 1.5 million Palestinian refugees situated there into the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. The forced displacement of an entire population falls under the definition of ethnic cleansing. It also outlines the Israeli supremacy that it harbours within it, as it believes it is not only the rightful owners of the land but also more worthy than Palestinian blood.
