• A probe was launched after an Israeli fighter jet dropped a bomb on an Israeli town.

• A bomb intended for Rafah falls on an Israeli town; the Israeli military is unsure of how to clarify.

In the early morning of last Friday, within the south-western area of Israel, a 450-kg bomb had fallen on the town of Yated. According to the Israeli military, the bomb was intended for Rafah, and they described the incident as ‘unusual’. Not too long after the incident, Air Force technical teams arrived at the scene and began an in-depth investigation of the incident.

Yated lays in the south-west of Israel, near Rafah

The incident comes after the intense bombing of Rafah, an area in which still 400,000 people are still situated. Israel has been warned by the international community, including the United States, to halt the invasion and allow humanitarian aid to come through; unfortunately, Israel has done the opposite by blocking the Rafah border and continuing its invasion. Analysts say the bloodiest phase of the Gaza genocide could be this phase. Only yesterday, Gaza’s health ministry said that the Al Aqsa hospital was soon going to run out of fuel. That meant healthcare for 1300 patients would cease, causing a health catastrophe for hundreds of patients. Israel has not allowed fuel to reenter since.

The bombing of the Israeli town by the IDF highlights the ineptitude of Israel in caring about civilian life within Gaza. If the IDF drops bombs into their own territory, then it raises questions about how many bombs have been dropped on civilian life in Gaza without care. The heedlessness the Israeli military exhibits when dropping bombs has unfortunately not been noticed amongst leaders of the international community. More than 35,000 civilians have been killed in Gaza, and thousands are still under rubble, unaccounted for. This is the highest kill rate since the Rwanda genocide, and unfortunately, most Israelis still believe the genocide in Gaza should continue.

Aftermath

According to the Israeli military, not too long after the bombing of the Israeli town, Israel still went ahead with the planned Rafah strike that was intended. An investigation has been launched to identify the reason the bomb was dropped in Yated and not Rafah. As of yet, there has not been a single investigation or pending investigation into the mass bombardment in Rafah, even with the massive civilian casualty rates and the bombing of refugee camps.
