His maternal uncle is the former World No 14, Shahid Zaman, and he has a close relation to the legendary Qamar Zaman. Additionally, Hamza’s father shares a unique connection as the sister of Zaman’s late wife.

During an interview in 2020, Hamza candidly shared insights into his early journey and the crucial role his father played in shaping his passion for squash. Hamza described the rigorous training regime he underwent, stating, “We used to undergo intense physical training under an instructor in the mornings. Then after school, it was back to the academy again, and from 2 pm to 6 pm, it was all training and practice matches.”

Hamza expressed his ultimate ambition during the interview, declaring, “My ultimate goal is to bring back the big titles, the British Open and the World Open, to Pakistan. I aspire to become a champion and make my country proud on the global squash stage.”
