Social Media influencer Shaun King who has amassed a following of 4.7 million on Instagram, will be launching ‘phase one’ of his ‘War Crime project.’ The application form for participants to volunteer reads the following:
On this coming Thursday, November 2nd we will publicly launch Phase 1 of The War Crimes Project - overseen by an international team of Palestinian leaders, government officials from around the world, experienced and successful war crimes attorneys, human rights advocates, and more. Our expressed intent is to hold everyone criminally responsible for the atrocious war crimes being committed against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and other occupied territories.
King later asks individuals to list their expert specialities which may range from ‘event planning, film, art and design etc..
His unwavering social media presence and tireless activism for the Palestinian cause over the last couple of weeks have unquestionably stirred concern among Israeli authorities. IDF members posted a video containing baseless and malicious propaganda, falsely insinuating that King has been sending funds to Israel.
Other Palestinian Activists doing a Remarkable job!
Our brother, rapper Lowkey, has been a resilient advocate for Palestinian rights for fifteen years (Allahumma Barik!). Recently, Lowkey, also known as Kareem Dennis, made a remarkable appearance on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored,’ where he eloquently dismantled and obliterated Morgan on the historical facts surrounding the Palestinian crisis. Morgan appeared noticeably disconcerted, perturbed and flustered on his very own show.
There are other prominent figures who have tirelessly championed the Palestinian cause for many years, including notable voices such as Noam Chomsky, George Galloway and twins Muna and Mohammed El-Kurd, who were featured in Time’s list of the most influential people in 2021.
In recent weeks, a discernible transformation has unfolded, wherein the prevailing media bias, propaganda, and manipulation have faced unrelenting scrutiny and opposition. Courageous individuals, including on-the-ground cameramen and valiant reporters in Gaza, who command substantial social media followings, have played a pivotal role in this shift in addition to those in the secondary chain of information relaying.
For those of us residing comfortably in various corners of the globe, we can only draw profound inspiration from these individuals, witnessing how their unwavering vocalization yields a tangible impact on media consumption and reshapes the narrative toward authenticity. It becomes our solemn duty to champion and bolster such figures in their initiatives, or perhaps to embark on our own projects. We must therefore persist, never wavering in our commitment to this relentless pursuit of justice, and the emancipation of the oppressed in shaa Allah.
The recent resurgence of truth in media, fulled by courageous individuals and amplified through social media networks, and WhatsApp groups etc..reminds us of the potency of collective action. As witnesses to this shift, it is our duty to support and join in this ongoing fight for humanity, ensuring that the voices of truth continue to prevail.
May our efforts be accepted by Allah (swt), and may we witness substantive change on the ground in the sacred land of Palestine….Ameen
