The UK’s National Union of Students (NUS) has resolved its dispute with former president Shaima Dallali, ousted in November 2022 amidst allegations of antisemitism.

Despite vehemently refuting the accusations, Dallali pursued legal action against the NUS, citing racial and religious discrimination.

While the settlement terms remain confidential, a joint statement by both parties, published on the NUS website, addresses the allegations and subsequent media scrutiny faced by Dallali. Emphasizing her dismissal as rooted in opposition to her pro-Palestinian stance and criticism of Zionist ideology, Dallali’s legal representatives underscored the significance of protecting her beliefs.

In their joint declaration, the NUS acknowledged the legitimacy of holding pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist perspectives.
