● The burning of the Israeli flag is an annual tradition for Anti-Zionist Rabbis internationally

● The absurdity reaches its highest point when any criticism of Zionism is branded as antisemitism.

Every year, Neturei Karta joins the march for Al Quds Day in London, alongside the Islamic Human Rights Commission, The Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and many more. They burn the Israeli flag in protest against the creation of the state of Israel, which they see as blasphemy against the Torah.  Indeed, according to Judaism, they are not allowed to create the state of Israel before the coming of their Messiah.

They also consider that its creation has violated the 10 commandments from God, such as the interdiction to steal and to kill.

Their presence in the march and their firm dedication to the Palestinian cause has embarrassed the Zionist authorities, not only in Israel but in major cities around the world like New York, Moscow, and London.

Neturei Karta, the orthodox anti-zionist movement, defines itself as the voice of Religious Jews worldwide in their Torah-based opposition to the State of Israel.

They regularly protest against the Zionists and have been suffering tremendous violence from Israeli soldiers.

On the last Al Quds Day which took place on April 5th in London, the Rabbis burnt the Israeli flag as usual. As the protest was finished and the Rabbis were away from the supportive crowd, the 2 rabbis who had burnt the flag were approached by metropolitan Police and put under arrest.

Rabbi Jacob Weiss explained to journalist Crispin Flintoff, that the incident happened about half an hour after the end of the march. He was accused of antisemitism and incitement to racial hatred, as well as his colleague.

The Rabbi is convinced that the police were pressured by powerful Zionists and is surprised that many Zionist supporters did not receive the same treatment after chanting racist slogans against the peaceful march.

The Rabbi was detained for 12 hours during which he was not able to eat anything and was not given any kosher food. He had offered to come back to the police station after the Shabbat but the police refused.

He is now contemplating what the next action will be with his lawyers since he was charged with a criminal act for burning the flag. Even though this has been done for years, this is the first time that an arrest and charges against them have been made.

Until then, the 2 rabbis have been banned from joining any pro-Palestinian protest for at least 2 months, anywhere in the city of Westminster. The Zionists know that their presence alongside the pro-Palestinian groups is making people question the meaning of Zionism vs Judaism and they want to prevent that, by using the usual card of antisemitism.

The rabbi confirmed that they will not be intimidated and will continue to support the Palestinians and voice their protest against the genocide in Gaza.

“Zionism is the biggest enemy of the Jewish people in every way, in a spiritual way, in a physical way” and the act of burning the flag “is an act of peace as [they] are burning hatred”. he said
