- A video of a homosexual couple taking their vows in an apparent “Islamic marriage” has been circulating social media.
- Islam clearly prohibits such acts and clearly defines marriage to be between a man and woman only.
Islam stands out as the sole religion on Earth that has diligently upheld its unwavering moral compass and steadfastly preserved its cherished practices. This remarkable aspect of Islam exerts an irresistible allure, drawing countless individuals to embrace its teachings and become devoted followers in the present era. This can be seen from individuals such as Andrew Tate who said,
“Islam is the last religion on earth.”
In order for something to be true and pure in its essence, it cannot be altered or added to.
Islam prohibits the practice of homosexuality. However, it is crucial to highlight that indulging in such prohibited acts does not automatically sever one from the fold of Islam. If individuals are cognisant of the moral wrongdoing involved and are aware of its prohibition, yet they partake in such acts, their status within Islam remains intact. Needless to say, such acts are considered major sins with severe punishments in the afterlife, similar to usury and murder.
The problem arises when individuals attempt to alter the rulings of Islam in order to accommodate their own desires. This can take one out of the fold of Islam. A prominent scholar was on record to say that an individual who acknowledges that homosexuality is a sin in Islam yet engages in it, is of a significantly higher ranking than a person who has never gone near the act yet supports its cause.
Let’s consider the “Queer Nikha” video, which has been circulating online since yesterday: Islam can never accept such a “union” as a marriage. Such acts will always be rejected by Muslims due to the teachings in the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Mohammed (saw).
There may be a small minority who are attempting to normalise homosexuality in Islam. However, the uproar opposing such narratives from the Muslim community has been loud and clear.
Allah states in the Qur’an that marriage is strictly between a man and a woman.
In relation to the aforementioned rulings, it is important to add that Islam unequivocally rejects the mistreatment of any individual, regardless of their beliefs. It serves as a comprehensive way of life that advocates for fostering social cohesion among people from diverse backgrounds
