• YouTube has provisionally banned The Electronic Intifada for streaming and uploading Pro-Palestinian content
• The independent media outlet became aware of the restriction after they were unable to upload or live stream on the social media platform
The online Chicago-based publication The Electronic Intifada (EI) known for its anti-Zionist stance was banned from uploading videos and live streaming by YouTube.
The ban, supposedly for one week, has targeted the organisation over allegations that they oversaw multiple livestream segments which violated “community guidelines.”
After learning of their ban through being unable to post and stream, EI pinned a statement within the live chat explaining what had transpired:
“YouTube placed a punitive freeze on The Electronic Intifada’s channel which includes banning us from posting videos or live streaming on our YouTube channel for seven days.”
YouTube, known for its shadow banning practices and banning or freezing of accounts without prior notification, it was bought by the Zionist-run Google in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion and operates as one of its subsidiaries.
Many people had left comments on EI’s livestream despite being the ban with one user mentioning:
“No Coincidence that the Bibi Files just happens to have had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival…”
