According to her spokesperson, Jill Stein (of the US Green Party, medical doctor and Presidential candidate) was forcibly apprehended on Sunday at a pro-Palestinian rally at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Reports suggest that Stein, along with her campaign manager and deputy, was among over 100 individuals aggressively and vigorously detained by police during a raid on pro-Palestine protest camps on the university campus.
What happened to freedom of speech?
The spokesperson further stated that demonstrators at Washington University were calling for their institution to divest from Boeing, a company that provides supplies to Israel with “genocide” ammunition against Palestinians in Gaza.
“Stein’s campaign supports the demands of the students and their peaceful demonstrations,” the spokesperson asserted.
Video footage on social media depicted heavily armed police officers forcefully attempting to impede Stein’s movement with bicycles.
Furthermore, they ruthlessly suppressed the demonstrations, forcibly pushing protestors to the ground, and mercilessly handcuffing them from behind.
