  • James O’Brien staunchly defends pro-Palestinian protests against allegations of being ‘hateful and scary’.
  • There is clearly a need for integrity and acknowledgment of factual inaccuracies in several discussions surrounding this topic.

Home Secretary, Suella Braverman levels accusations against pro-Palestinian marches, contending that they bear the contentious label of ‘hateful.’ Consequently, it appears that Braverman’s remarks have emboldened certain individuals to disseminate misinformation with an air of assurance.

In the crucible of this debate, a notable dialogue of significance unfolded on radio broadcaster, LBC between a Zionist and presenter James O’Brien:

‘With so much unrest and so much fear within the Jewish community, most of these pro-Palestinian protests end in erupted violence, there’s this hate that comes out”

I’m response to the caller, O’Brien presented the facts over recent weeks. He highlighted a significant incident in which a public order was breached when a beer can was thrown at a protester at Whitehall.

The caller subsequently attempted to ‘gloss’ over the facts presented to her. ‘You have to accept that they don’t erupt into violence when they categorically don’t.’ O’Brien asserted.

“Think about the fear that Jewish people are feeling over the country…there’s no Jewish people that would feel comfortable going to a Palestine protest” the caller said.

O’Brien replied:

“There were Jewish people that were on the march. You’ve seen the footage from New York central station of Jewish people as well protesting”

At this particular juncture, the caller might’ve exhibited more integrity and gained more respect by acknowledging the wild inaccuracies of her statement. However, instead she persisted with her fallacious narrative, “They’re far extremists…”

The conversation continued, O’ Brien said, ‘You can’t come on my radio and say things that aren’t true’. Later he concluded “You’re making stuff up again’.
