• Following their admission to CNN of Tuesday’s terrorist attack using pagers, a second terrorist attack by the Israelis using walkie-talkies was carried out
• Officials for Lebanon and the UN confirm that the explosives were “almost certainly” rigged at the manufacturing stage of the devices
The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and the Israeli military are said to be coordinating together to conduct multiple terrorist attacks against Lebanon.
In an article by the Zionist-run CNN, it had been confirmed they learned that the terrorist attacks on Lebanon “were the result of a joint operation between Mossad and the IDF.”
Their coordinated efforts are the reason why the pagers detonated across Lebanon and Syria, resulting in at least 12 deaths and injuring around 3000 people on Tuesday.
However, the Israelis were not done with their attacks and on Wednesday Lebanon suffered another terrorist attack, using walkie-talkies which had been detonated, killing 20 and injuring almost 500.
A former Lebanese Brigadier General confirmed that 5000 pager devices were imported by Hezbollah five months ago and that they were almost certainly rigged with explosives during manufacturing or at other stages before reaching Lebanon.
His statement corroborates with what is now becoming more apparent following investigations that began in the hours since the attack took place, where reports now indicate that explosives were indeed hidden in the batteries to evade sensor detection.
At the time of detonation, people were said to have felt their pagers heating up and disposed of them before the explosions that killed at least 12 and injured at least 3000 people occurred.
As laboratories worked to identify the explosives, the former government coordinator with the UN peacekeeping mission UNIFIL, stated that lithium batteries do not cause the damage observed in the explosions.
Sky News Arabia quoted sources saying that the terrorist attack in Lebanon was possible because Mossad intercepted the communication devices before they were delivered to Hezbollah.
It turns out that the only reason they were able to intercept the devices was because they were the ones who supplied them.
The New York Times spoke to three Israeli intelligence officers who said BAC Consulting, a Hungary-based manufacturer of pagers, was a shell company set up by Mossad to specifically target Hezbollah and torig the devices at the source before shipping them to Lebanon.
Reuters reported that ‘Unit 8200’ played a role in the development stage of the operation. The report said that the unit was responsible for testing how to insert explosive material within the manufacturing process.
Unit 8200, also known as Cyber spies, is a highly specialised military group that develops and operates intelligence-gathering tools, comparable to the US National Security Agency.
They were able to lace a quantity of Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN), a highly explosive material, on the batteries of the devices, and detonated them by raising the temperature of the batteries from afar, the source says.
BAC Consulting was claimed to be under a contract to produce the devices on behalf of Gold Apollo, the Taiwanese company whose pagers exploded killing 12 on Tuesday.
Additionally, at least two other shell companies were created as well to mask the real identities of the people creating the pagers.
Al Jazeera quoted a Lebanese security source saying that the weight of the explosive placed in each device was below 20 grams, while Reuters reported that three grams of explosives were hidden in the new pagers and had gone “undetected” by Hezbollah for months.
An investigation was then conducted into how the explosive charge was activated, where now it has been confirmed that they had received a message on their pager, which acted as a trigger to detonate them causing explosions across the country.
The Hezbollah chief, Hassan Nasrallah said the terrorist attack on communication devices by Israelis has “crossed all red lines and has come as an unprecedented blow to the group.”
Meanwhile, Lebanese state media has reported that Israeli terror attacks across the border of Southern Lebanon had intensified.
For now, Lebanese authorities have banned walkie-talkies and pagers in airports; from being taken on flights; and any importing of the devices by air.
Neighbouring nations such as Turkey and Qatar are now also reviewing the security of their communication devices following the Israeli terrorist attacks and are said to be implementing similar measures.
