Libya’s Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani issues fatwa for Muslims to support Palestinians by storming borders, barring Egyptian and Jordanian interference.

He stresses prioritising Gaza aid over multiple Umrah pilgrimages, criticising the misconception of Umrah’s current importance.

Libya’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani, has issued a fatwa declaring it a duty for every Muslim to support the struggling people of Palestine by storming the borders. He forbade Egyptian and Jordanian forces from guarding the borders to prevent Muslims from fulfilling this obligation.

Libya’s Mufti, emphasised that spending money on multiple Umrah pilgrimages is wasteful, asserting that supporting Gaza’s people and the resistance should take precedence. He criticized the misconception that competing to perform Umrah is the highest form of worship when Palestinians in Gaza endure killings and sieges, deeming it negligent and incorrect behavior.

Sheikh Ghariani denounced restaurants that support Israel, stating that funds spent there contribute to the oppression and killing of Gazans, urging avoidance of such establishments.

He cautioned against believing claims by Israel and the United States regarding the establishment of a sea crossing for Gaza relief, dismissing it as a Zionist fabrication.

Addressing Muslims, Al-Ghariani questioned whether it is acceptable for America to provide aid to Gaza while simultaneously arming their oppressors. He emphasized that providing relief to Gaza does not necessitate convoys and crossings but rather a ceasefire.
