• Israel using psychological warfare to scare it’s enemies and the broader Arab world

• An expanding war in both area and range of warfare

The recent developments between Israel and Hezbollah mark a concerning escalation in the ongoing oppression between Israel and the broader Arab and Muslim world. Israel’s actions have taken a sinister turn as the use of psychological warfare, particularly through the deployment of exploding devices disguised as pagers, intensifies its hostility toward Hezbollah in Lebanon. This aggressive behaviour further highlights Israel’s long-standing pattern of merciless and brutal strategies that have inflicted untold suffering on Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims across the region.

Exploiting Psychological Warfare

Pagers used for communication are used by Hezbollah

The recent attack targeting Hezbollah through “exploding pagers” is not just a military assault—it is a calculated psychological tactic aimed at sowing fear and confusion. Such methods transcend physical violence, representing a form of psychological torment. By inflicting terror in such insidious ways, Israel is amplifying the suffering of ordinary civilians caught in the crossfire, as Hezbollah is deeply embedded in the fabric of Lebanese society. The use of such deceptive and deadly tactics reflects a wider policy of manipulation, where Israel employs fear to achieve political and military objectives.

A Legacy of Violence Against Palestinians

Israel’s hostility towards Hezbollah is deeply intertwined with its broader aggression against Palestinians. Since its establishment in 1948, Israel has engaged in what many perceive as systematic oppression, displacement, and dehumanization of the Palestinian people. The 1948 Nakba, or catastrophe, marked the beginning of the forced displacement of over 700,000 Palestinians, setting the stage for decades of occupation, violence, and subjugation.

In the occupied territories of Gaza and the West Bank, Israel’s military operations often blur the lines between combatants and civilians, resulting in widespread death, destruction, and despair. The use of advanced weaponry and surveillance technology, as well as the demolition of homes and infrastructure, paints a stark picture of Israel’s willingness to exert brutal force with little regard for international law or human rights.

This pattern of violence has only worsened with time. From the bombardments of Gaza, which kill and displace innocent families, to the illegal settlements in the West Bank that erode Palestinian sovereignty, Israel’s actions have drawn widespread condemnation from human rights organizations. Yet, despite numerous calls for accountability, the global community has often turned a blind eye, allowing these injustices to persist.

Disproportionate Use of Force

One of the hallmarks of Israel’s military strategy has been its merciless use of force, which has consistently resulted in massive civilian casualties. Whether in Gaza, Lebanon, or Syria, Israel’s retaliatory strikes are notorious for their destructive impact on civilians. In Lebanon, during the 2006 war, Israel’s bombardments levelled entire neighbourhoods, killing over a thousand civilians, displacing many more, and wreaking havoc on the country’s infrastructure. Similarly, Gaza has been bombarded in multiple operations, with Israel using its military might to target heavily populated civilian areas under the guise of combating “terrorism.”

The psychological warfare tactics—like the exploding pagers—are just an extension of this barbaric approach. They show that Israel is not just intent on using physical force, but also on employing cruel, unconventional methods to break the will of its enemies, regardless of the impact on innocent lives.

Targeting the Arab and Muslim World

Beyond Palestine, Israel’s actions have had ripple effects across the Arab and Muslim world. Its aggression in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran underscores a broader agenda aimed at weakening any opposition to its regional hegemony. Israel’s strikes in Syria against Hezbollah and Iranian-backed forces have escalated tensions in an already volatile region, while its clandestine operations, such as cyber warfare and assassinations, highlight a broader campaign of destabilization.

This is not merely about a conflict between two entities—Israel and Hezbollah—it is a broader struggle for control and dominance over a region that has long been resisting Israeli expansionism and occupation. The Arab and Muslim world has felt the weight of Israeli aggression, from the occupation of Jerusalem to the continued blockade of Gaza. For decades, Israel’s treatment of Palestinians has served as a rallying point for the Arab and Muslim world, symbolizing a wider struggle against oppression and imperialism.

Calls for Accountability

While Israel continues to justify its actions as “self-defense” against Hezbollah and other resistance groups, the international community must recognize the severe toll this expansion of genocide takes on civilians and broader regional stability. Israel’s barbaric tactics, from bombardments to the use of psychological warfare, warrant stronger condemnation and tangible consequences. The unchecked aggression that Israel exerts against Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims is not just a matter of national security; it is a grave violation of human rights and international law.

Global silence, especially from powerful Western nations, has allowed these acts of brutality to persist unchecked.

Just another example of Israel’s barbarism

The deployment of exploding pagers is yet another example of Israel’s barbaric treatment of Arabs, Muslims, and Palestinians. It is a disturbing reminder of Israel’s continued reliance on fear and violence to assert its dominance over the region. These tactics, coupled with years of occupation, displacement, and bloodshed, highlight the dire need for the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and advocate for a just and lasting resolution. Until then, the cycle of violence, psychological trauma, and oppression will continue to afflict millions of innocent lives.
