Israeli War Cabinet Minister, Benny Gantz, was hospitalised on Monday following a bicycle accident near the Yad Mordechai settlement in southern Israel, as reported by local media outlets including Anadolu Agency and the public broadcaster KAN.
Gantz, leader of the centrist National Unity Party, underwent testing after being admitted to the hospital, with expectations of being released later in the day. Reportedly, he has sustained a fracture in his foot.
This incident occurred shortly after a car accident involving far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, in central Israel on Friday. Gantz, a former defense minister, joined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government on October 7th.
Since then, reports from Haaretz have revealed discrepancies in the casualties claimed by Israel, asserting that many of the reported 1,139 soldiers and civilians killed by the Palestinian Resistance were actually casualties of Israeli military actions.
Almost 34,500 Palestinians have since been brutally killed, predominantly women and children, and more than 77,600 Palestinians have been injuries.
Gaza has been devastated by the Israeli offensive, leading to extensive destruction and critical shortages of basic necessities. The ongoing genocide has forced 85 percent of Gaza’s population into internal displacement, exacerbated by a blockade on essential resources such as food, clean water, and medicine, as reported by the UN.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), prompting an interim ruling in January that ordered the cessation of genocidal acts and the implementation of measures to ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.
