Israeli airstrikes near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis reportedly targeted a journalist tent, severely burning a Palestinian journalist and killing at least two others.

This attack adds to a pattern of Israeli strikes on journalists in Gaza, with over 210 killed since October 7th.

Israel has launched strikes near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in southern, besieged Gaza, resulting in multiple murders — among them a Palestinian journalist who was burned alive after Tel Aviv targeted a press tent stationed near the hospital.

Harrowing footage that circulated online on Sunday shows the journalist engulfed in flames as Palestinians and rescue workers frantically attempt to extinguish the fire.

The journalist has been identified as Ahmed Mansour, a father and reporter for Palestine Today.

“(Israeli) Missiles burned Colleague Ahmed Mansour and [he] is still in intensive care, suffering from severe burns as a result of the targeting of the tent where he is sitting in the journalists’ camp at Nasser Hospital,” said Wael Abo Omar, a Palestinian journalist in the blockaded enclave, on X.

Photojournalist Mahmoud Bassam, based in Gaza, stated that Mansour “needs a miracle” to survive the extent of his injuries.

Two additional journalists were reportedly killed in the same strike, with several others injured.

This horrific assault marks yet another chapter in Israel’s ongoing campaign against journalists documenting the genocide in Gaza. In late March, Israeli forces killed Al Jazeera correspondent Hossam Shabat and Palestine Today’s Mohammed Mansour.

From the outset of its military campaign, Israel has barred entry to foreign reporters while deliberately targeting Palestinian journalists who continue to expose the devastation from within.

Last year, Shabat highlighted that the issue wasn’t merely the absence of foreign correspondents — it was the global disregard for Palestinian journalists putting their lives on the line to report the truth.

With these latest killings, the number of journalists slain by Israel has now surpassed 210.

In March, when pressed on whether the systematic killing of journalists constitutes a war crime, the United States refused to answer directly — reiterating instead that Washington will always support Israel’s “needs.”
