  • Israeli soldiers, as reported by Israeli media, admit to firing without firing regulations.
  • Videos depicting “summary executions” by the IOF align with accounts from witnesses who describe indiscriminate shootings authorised by the military.

As reported by Israeli media outlet ‘+972 Magazine,’ Israeli soldiers describe the lack of firing regulations during their brutal conduct. They fired at will, set homes on fire, and left corpses in the streets—all with their commanders’ approval.

In early June, Al Jazeera aired disturbing videos depicting what they labelled as “summary executions”: Israeli soldiers fatally shooting multiple unarmed Palestinians on three separate occasions along the Gaza Strip’s coastal road.

Supporting the accounts provided by Palestinian eyewitnesses and doctors, the soldiers stated they were authorised to shoot Palestinians almost indiscriminately, including civilians.

The testimonies depict a scene where civilian corpses lie scattered, left to decay or be scavenged by stray animals. The army conceals them before international aid convoys arrive to prevent images of decomposing bodies from emerging. Additionally, two soldiers testified to a systematic practice of setting fire to Palestinian homes after occupying them.

Several sources recounted how unrestricted shooting provided soldiers an outlet to alleviate boredom or break from their routine. “People want to experience the event [fully],” recalled S., a reservist who served in northern Gaza. “I personally fired a few bullets for no reason, into the sea or at the sidewalk or an abandoned building.
