• 3 Israeli captives have been released by Hamas for 369 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday.

• Palestinian prisoners and detainees show signs of severe torture with four being hospitalised while in critical condition as a result.

369 prisoners were released by Israel on Saturday with 4 taken to hospital while in critical condition.

Of the 369, majority were sent to Gaza with some released in the occupied West Bank and some deported.

From the beginning of the first stage of the ceasefire process, Palestinian prisoners who were released from Israeli prisons showed signs of torture and starvation

The Palestinian prisoners society said: “Every time prisoners are released, we find the prisoners’ bodies reflecting the level of crimes committed against them, including torture that is unprecedented in its level after October 7, starvation crimes, systematic medical crimes, and the infection of a number of them with scabies, in addition to the severe beatings that the prisoners were subjected to before their release, which continued for days according to many of their testimonies, and which in some cases led to rib fractures.”

According to other prisoners, Israeli soldiers assaulted and insulted the 4 prisoners who ended up being hospitalised up until the moment of their release.

There are more than 9000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons including 200 minors and 3000 detainees held without charge or trial.

Since the pause in genocide under the guise of the term ceasefire that began on January 19, more than 1000 Palestinian prisoners have been released so far during the first phase of truce.

Saturday’s exchange was the biggest exchange since the ceasefire began topping 369 Palestinian prisoners released for the first time in one exchange.

As part of the first phase of the deal Israel said it would release 1900 Palestinian prisoners and detainees altogether for the exchange of 33 Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza.
