• Following the end of the “truce”, the escalation of attacks led to the bloodiest day yet of Israeli attacks on Palestine.
• Palestinian health minister reports that over 15,900 Palestinians have been killed since October 7th.
On December 3rd, over 700 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes with the same justification of trying to fight Hamas. However, looking closer at the casualties it becomes even more absurd that they’re “targeting Hamas”. Of the 15,900 human beings killed, almost 70% were children and women and 260 of the casualties were in the west bank. With Israel’s current methods the Palestinians would face a complete extinction before Hamas is defeated. Looking at these statistics, Israel must be questioned in the methods that are available to them and the methods that they actually use to “target Hamas”.
With recent reports of Israel’s plans to “flood Hamas tunnels” and given that Israel has one of the most advanced militaries in the region, one must question the need for bombing schools, hospitals and places of worship. Israel has repeatedly played the victim and has even convinced the world that it requires nuclear weapons because of the hostility of the region towards them. However, the recent events highlight the free hand that Israel has in destroying, bombing and killing whatever and whoever they want. As the west has openly admitted, Israel is the western worlds proxy in the middle east and given the western worlds dominant position in geopolitics, it seems more plausible that Israel is holding the whole region hostage rather than the other way around. The point of having billions of dollars of military funding from countries like the USA and UK would be to have the ability to conduct high level special operations to eliminate targets with relatively weaker weaponry.
Furthermore, western media biases become clearer by the day as they have repeatedly likened October 7th with 9/11. However, Israel (since October 7th) has killed more children (estimated 6,500) than the death toll of October 7th and 9/11 combined (estimated 4,200). Just like these dates are imprinted into peoples’ heads when will the dates of 70 years of occupation be imprinted into peoples’ heads? And when will people be asked to condemn October 9th, October 10th, October 11th and so on. Therefore, it is unreasonable to ignore the massacring of Palestinians after October 7th and the 70 years of oppression before October 7th.
December 3rd marked the bloodiest day since the start of Israel’s massacring of the Palestinian people, yet still there is no effort by the western media in making this day a significant day. This simply highlights that seeing a headline of 700 Americans killed or 700 Israelis killed is much more alarming to people than seeing 700 Palestinians killed. This raises the question of whether the blood of the Palestinians is simply worth less than that of the Israelis.
