  • Muslim entrepreneur Zia Yusuf has made a significant, undisclosed donation to Reform UK, expressing concerns over perceived border control issues in the UK.
  • Since the donation, speculation has arisen within the Muslim community about Yusuf’s true religious affiliation and motives, though this remains unverified.

A Muslim entrepreneur has made a substantial donation to Reform UK, citing concerns that the UK has “lost control of our borders.” While the exact amount Zia Yusuf contributed remains undisclosed, Reform UK claims it to be the largest donation received during their general election campaign so far. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has faced staunch criticism for his baseless remarks about Muslims posing a to rear to British society.

Yusuf has defended the party’s stance, stating, “We feel very strongly that we should protect British values and prioritise British people of all religions and creeds.” Apart from his role as a donor, the 37-year-old is expected to play a public role for Reform UK during the campaign.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Yusuf emphasised his patriotism, saying, “I love Britain and I’m a patriot, a British Muslim patriot, which I believe the vast majority of Muslims in the UK are.”

Yusuf, who earned an estimated £31m from selling his luxury concierge app Velocity Black last year, voiced concerns about “unsustainable” levels of net migration affecting integration and straining the NHS. “We have lost control of our borders. That’s my view. And I think it’s an objective statement,” he told the BBC.

The entrepreneur, whose parents immigrated to Britain from Sri Lanka in the 1980s and worked in the NHS described his decision to fund Nigel Farage and Reform UK as a “patriotic duty.”

He expressed disillusionment with the current Conservative leadership under Rishi Sunak, citing internal discord within the party as a barrier to effective governance.
