Rabbi David Mivasair, of Independent Jewish Voices, Canada, an anti-Zionist Jewish organization, is raising awareness about a real estate company selling unlawfully acquired homes of Palestinians outside a Canadian synagogue to Canadian Zionists.

The Rabbi plans to protest these illicit sales outside the Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto Synagogue Centre, on Thursday, March 7th, at 3:30 PM.

Shame on Canada!

From Zionist to Palestinian Ally: A snippet of Rabbi Mivasair’s Journey

Throughout much of his life, Rabbi Mivasair identified as a Zionist. However, in an interview with the YouTube channel “Let the Qur’an Speak,” he elucidates how a series of incidents during his visits to Jerusalem as an American Jew led to a profound sense of cognitive dissonance. One such poignant moment occurred when, at the age of 19, he encountered a Palestinian child, around six years old, bleeding profusely from his hand. Rabbi Mivasair approached an IDF soldier for assistance, only to be met with derision as the soldier callously dismissed his plea, citing the child’s Arab identity.

“Mavi Mamara,” he asserts, marked the pivotal turning point in his perspective. It was during this incident that Israelis intercepted international vessels transporting aid to Gaza. This event served as the catalyst for his departure from Zionism.

Rabbi Mivasair Shares Challenges Faced by Anti-Zionist Jews with Mr. Galloway

This evening, the Rabbi engaged in a conversation with George Galloway, MP on his YouTube channel show, ‘Moats’.

Mr Galloway inquired about the $25 million in funding being reinstated to UNWRA from Canada this month. The Rabbi elucidated how this decision came about solely due to mounting pressure and shouldn’t have been halted in the first place.

When Mr Galloway complimented the Rabbi and anti-Zionist Jews as being “possibly the most brave people on the planet,” the Rabbi refuted this designation, asserting that the bravest individuals are the Gazans. However, he did shed light on the ostracism faced by non-Zionist Jews within Jewish institutions, deeming it utterly unacceptable that an atheist Jew would be more readily embraced in a synagogue than an anti-Zionist Jew.

New York Synagogue Receives Backlash for Selling Palestinian Homes to American Zionists

Closed-door meetings convened in synagogues across the US to facilitate the sale of properties owned by Palestinians residing in areas occupied by illegal settlers in East Jerusalem and the West Bank have ignited widespread outrage.

Among these gatherings, a session organised by the Texas-based real estate firm Keller Williams drew protest in Englewood, New Jersey.

Scores of demonstrators, among them, Jews, congregated outside the Ahavath Torah Synagogue in Englewood. They waved Palestinian flags and voiced their opposition to the sale of properties to American Zionist Jews from illegal settlement regions.

Protesters gathered outside the synagogue, for hours chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine,” “End the Israeli occupation,” and “Illegal settlements must stop.”

Amidst the heavy rain, protestors held banners displaying their messages: “You can’t sell stolen lands,” “This is land theft,” and “Do not do business on stolen lands.”

The New Jersey branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) also expressed their condemnation of the sales: “Places of worship should be sacred. The use of places of worship like synagogues to sell stolen lands by violating international law is deeply concerning,” CAIR said in a written statement.

The sales events, coordinated by real estate company Keller Williams in partnership with the unauthorised Israeli settlers’ group “Your Home in Israel,” are taking place confidentially across New Jersey, New York, Toronto, and Montreal.

Advance registration is mandatory for attendance at the sessions, with admittance restricted solely to Jewish participants.

Approximations suggest that around 700,000 Israeli settlers reside in approximately 300 illicit settlements across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

It is internationally acknowledged that all Jewish settlements within these occupied regions are in violation of international law.
