A report by the British newspaper, The Mirror, confirms that the three British WCK workers who were killed by the IDF last night were, in fact, employees of the British Intelligence firm Solace Global.
James Henderson, James Kirby, and John Chapman have been confirmed as the three British security operatives who were killed in the strike carried out by the IDF on April 1st.
Henderson referred to himself a “military professional, who takes the Health and Safety of others very seriously”. Despite his lengthy service in the Marines, he expressed his, “true vocation lies in security” but in a “civilian position”.
A former comrade of John Chapman, 57, from the Special Boat Service, commented about him. “….People trying to deliver aid into Gaza are doing the right thing and they need support and protection from people like John and his colleagues to do their job.”
James Kirby, a former UK Armed Forces veteran, was the third man who was killed, identified, also an employee of Solace Global.
Despite coordinating their movements with the IDF (the charity has stated that they were following a route indicated to them by Israeli Armed Forces), the three clearly marked vehicles owned by WCK were struck in the Israeli airstrike. Three distinct strikes targeted three individual vehicles. This resulted in the casualties of seven Western aid workers, including the three British military personnel. WCK chief executive Erin Gore called the strike a ‘targeted attack by the IDF’.
This incident prompts several inquiries: Were these military personnel posing as aid workers to gather intelligence, or were they genuinely there to protect their fellow citizens? Is it the case that Israel will eliminate anyone attempting to assist the Gazans, even if they are their closest allies?
