- Kangana Ranaut discussed the Palestinian crisis with Israel’s ambassador in Delhi, expressing support for Israel.
- Kangana has a history of Twitter bans for violating policies on “hateful conduct and abusive behaviour,” emphasizing the need to address those who promote harmful ideologies.
Kangana Ranaut recently visited Delhi and had a discussion with Israel’s ambassador, Naor Gilon, regarding the ongoing Palestinian crisis.
Kangana wrote on X, “My heart goes out to Israel. Our hearts are bleeding too. Here’s my conversation with Israel’s ambassador to Bharat Naor Gilon.” During the conversation, she said, “I have been vocal about my support to Israel….As a Hindu nation….we identify a lot with Jews and we strongly believe as we deserve a Bharat dedicated to Hindus, Jews also deserve one nation and they can’t give us one that land is rather very inhumane and stingy of the Islamic world where they have 2nd largest amount of countries in the whole globe which is primarily dominated by the Christian countries. So I think what you guys are fighting for is rightfully yours and we as a Hindu nation, we stand in Israel’s support.”
Twitter previously banned Kangana for inciting violence & Abusive behaviour
Staunch Hindutva advocate and Bollywood actress Kangana has a history of tweeting hateful comments. In 2021, her Twitter account had been “permanently banned” due to repeated violations of policies regarding “hateful conduct and abusive behaviour,” as stated by the social media giant.
Ranaut posted a tweet in which she urged Modi to resort to gangster tactics to “tame” West Bengal’s chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose regional party defeated Modi’s Hindu nationalists in elections to retain control of the state government in Kolkata.
Individuals who promote genocide pose a severe threat to the fabric of our society. Their actions and ideologies, which advocate for the intentional extermination of entire populations based on their religion and political beliefs, run counter to the principles of peace and human rights that underpin our global community. Countering such dangerous beliefs and challenging such individuals of influence is of utmost importance, rather a shared responsibility. In doing so, we can ensure that innocent civilians can live in a world free from the horrors of mass violence, discrimination and ethnic cleansing.
Interestingly, Kangana fails to mention India’s treatment of Muslims, as condemned by expert bodies including Amnesty International, Human Rights watch and The Panel.
Gregory Stanton, the founder and director of Genocide Watch, stated during a US congressional briefing in 2022, “We are warning that genocide could very well happen in India due to the mass proportions of anti-Muslim hate crime in India.” He also asserted that were early “signs and processes” of genocide in the Indian state of Assam and Indian-administered Kashmir.
The current death toll in Gaza stands at 7,028, as reported by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, with a heartbreaking majority of those lost being children. Kangana’s failure to acknowledge the suffering of Gazans is deeply disconcerting.
