- Turkish diplomatic sources confirmed the flight’s emergency landing at Antalya airport to evacuate a sick passenger.
An El Al flight that diverted to Antalya, Turkey, on Sunday due to an emergency was denied refuelling at the airport. This incident transpires amid suspended flights between Israel and Turkey since October 7th.
El Al Flight 5102 from Warsaw to Tel Aviv was redirected to Antalya at approximately 3 PM local time following a medical emergency involving a passenger in need of medical attention.
Later, the flight proceeded to Rhodes on Sunday evening for refuelling and would then continue to Israel.
Responding to the incident, Turkish diplomatic sources affirmed that the flight was granted clearance for an emergency landing at Antalya airport to facilitate the evacuation of the unwell passenger.
The refusal to refuel the aircraft was more than likely attributed to the prevailing political discord between Turkey and Israel.
El Al planes frequently become the focal point of boycotts and protests in various nations due to Israel’s inhumane, brutal and barbaric treatment of Palestinians.
The number of Palestinians being killed from the continuous Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip has escalated to 37,877.
Over the last 24 hours, 43 have been killed and 111 have incurred injuries, contributing to an overall death toll of 37,877 and 86,969 injuries since October 7th.
