The emergence of AI generated models will make a man unable to holistically connect with a woman.

Women now confront competition from artificial intelligence-crafted models, boasting attributes that are physically unattainable.

If beauty standards are a social construct, our perceptions of what constitutes as beautiful is often crafted in our minds due to our surroundings and what we have been exposed to.

Or is it? Perhaps what we consider beautiful is a part of our fitra. Studies tell us how women are attracted to tall men with broad shoulders. Many posit that this stems from women seeking assurance that they are partnered with someone who can effectively protect them from potential dangers. However, a Muay Thai fighter who isn’t particularly tall or broad shouldered would clobber most in a street fight if he encountered any danger. Mayweather is the best pound for pound fighter today (…Floyd Money Mayweather- possibly one of the worst role models in boxing history). It however, cannot be denied that he has mastered his art, despite being an average height of 5’8. Perhaps the majority of women are attracted to men of the aforementioned stature as this is in stark contrast to what the majority of they themselves are: narrow shouldered and not as tall.

Descriptions of the Hur al Ayn have often made me ponder over what beauty is. Allah, the greatest designer has crafted for the believing Muslim men these beautiful creatures. Many women attempt to achieve a feeline cat eye, with a fierce winged liner; makeup artistry enabling a woman’s eye-shape to appear different but Allah speaks about the Hur Al Ayn as wide eyed beautiful creatures.

Advancements in AI technology have made it possible to create an idealised, aesthetically pleasing woman. As a result, individuals can now generate a flawless virtual model, embodying a standard of beauty that transcends reality. With a mere input of desired attributes, one can effortlessly manifest their vision of the perfect woman using a simple application.

The objectification of women is embarking upon a rapidly alarming trajectory. Women competing with Instagram models- Instagram models who subconsciously attained their beauty standards from the Kardashian/Jenner clan over a decade ago- women who have all been seen by an LA surgeon. These women perhaps drew their beauty standards from ‘Jenny from the Block’ back in the early 2000’s.

The high street now presents a multitude of accessible procedural options: from fat-dissolving injections to lip fillers and jaw-shaping injections, all aimed at enticing women to pursue an elusive ideal of perfection. However, becoming preoccupied with this pursuit will erode their spirituality, foster insecurity, and persist until their final days, perpetuated by the ever-changing beauty standards.

These trends have contributed to widespread depression and mental health issues among women, trapped in a relentless cycle of comparison.

Ironically, it is the evolution of feminism that embodies a trajectory towards the commodification of women and not patriarchy. Moreover, platforms like OnlyFans, purportedly aimed at empowering women, predominately utilised by men, have stripped women of their dignity and autonomy. This arises from a fundamental misinterpretation inherent in feminism: it perceives patriarchy as solely oppressive, overlooking its function in safeguarding women. Devoid of patriarchy’s protective influence, women are left susceptible and vulnerable to the harms of society and defenceless.

To exacerbate the situation, women now confront competition from artificial intelligence-crafted depictions of women, boasting attributes that are physically unattainable. Or if attainable, their soul might get destroyed in the process. Tragically, women will encounter the challenge of being measured against these fantasy, AI-generated personas.

Both men and women inherently desire companionship, a trait ingrained within their very being. This vulnerability is something Shaytan is keenly aware of and will exploit, even targeting the most devout Muslim women. Our enemy Shaytan, will whisper, “You need to alter your (so and so) because you need to get married and this is what is expected of you/considered beautiful”.

“and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah.” [al-Nisa 4:119]

However, altering your looks for cosmetic reasons is changing the creation of Allah, which is prohibited in Islam:

Narrated by Abu Huraira: “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) cursed the lady who practices tattooing and the one who gets herself tattooed…..” (Sahih al-Bukhari 5931)

Allah crafted your precise dimensions, colouring and shoe size all for a reason- so that you, could be you. There are billions of Muslims on this planet. This is why Allah has created us all with  a particularly propensity and why beauty is in the eye of beholder.

The emergence of AI generated models will make a man unable to holistically connect with a woman

If a man becomes discontented with imperfections in the real world, he may retreat into a perpetual fantasy where he can mold his ideal woman to his exact specifications. Unable to form genuine connections with his wife in reality, he will continuously seek solace in this fabricated realm. Consequently, life will become monotonous and devoid of surprises, preventing him from discovering new aspects of himself or experiencing the transformative influence of a real companion.

The proliferation of AI-generated models threatens to undermine the development of future generations of men. These are the potential consequences based on current information, but only Allah knows what the future holds.

According to Pew Research, a staggering 63% of American men were single and unmarried in 2022, with 50% expressing a desire to settle down. This statistic is notable, as these men wanted to be in a committed relationship.

The ultimate salvation lies in adhering to Islam. Muslim men must sincerely value the virtues of Muslim women, who uphold their modesty and beauty exclusively for their husbands, maintain their dignity in the face of moral challenges, and hold Islam close to their hearts. Muslim women should understand that perfection awaits us in Jannah, not for a fleeting moment, but for all eternity. Jannah is not a fictional notion; it is a tangible reality we eagerly and excitedly anticipate, by the will of Allah.
