  • Inflicting harm upon or killing innocent babies (irrespective of their background) constitutes one of the most abhorrent crimes in Islam- even during warfare. Such heinous acts demand universal condemnation and immediate cessation.
  • Wednesday saw the tragic loss of 260 innocent Gazan children, underscoring the human toll of Israel’s war crimes. Gaza’s children also endure the effects of a severe blockade.

The intentional harm, abuse, abduction, and murder of the most defenceless among us, innocent babies who represent our future and the embodiment of hope (regardless of their race, religion, gender, or creed) is an unequivocally heinous act that is haram in Islam. The permissibility of this does not alter if the perpetrator is Muslim and the child in question comes from a non-Muslim background. Notably, as Muslims, our allegiance isn’t to any specific group, rather, we stand in solidarity with the oppressed. Moreover, such heinous and heart-wrenching acts warrant united condemnation and immediate cessation; they serve as a grave violation of the sanctity of life.

The Geneva conventions (article 77) states that:

“Children shall be the object of special respect and shall be protected against any form of indecent assault.”

This article presents compelling evidence of Israel’s actions that seem to transcend legal constraints.

The fallacious account of Israeli babies being beheaded

Over the past few days, an astonishing and unsubstantiated narrative captured the attention of both social and global mainstream media outlets. Startling allegations of the beheading and killing of 40 Israeli infants swiftly proliferated, igniting a wave of widespread condemnation and alarm.

However, a thorough scrutiny of the story unveils significant disparities. The Israeli Army, in response to the allegations, openly asserted the absence of any substantiating proof, serving as the initial and primary basis for skepticism. Adding to this, the reporter who originally introduced the account later recanted her statements, confessing her reliance on soldiers’ beliefs rather than firsthand evidence.

Tragic Real-Life Accounts of Palestinian Babies & Children being Massacred & ignored by the Mainstream Media

On Wednesday, 260 Gazan babies and children fell victim to the ravages of Israeli inhumanity and were brutally killed. This grim statistic underscores the deep human cost of the ongoing turmoil, shedding light on the abhorrent war crimes being committed by Israel without any accountability. Furthermore, 60% who have been injured are women and children.

In the Gaza Strip, the lifeless forms of babies and young children are being piled up at Al Shifa Hospital:

The enduring and systematic abduction of Palestinian children

The persistent and routine abduction of Palestinian children, with some as tender as 12 years of age is unaccounted for. These apprehensions by Israeli authorities typically unfold under the cover of night, leading to the transfer of these children to detention facilities, frequently located within Israel. In these facilities, young detainees are often commonly assaulted by guards, coupled with the denial of rights such as legal counsel and contact with their families. These transgressions persist without impunity. The Mainstream media do not cover the infringements upon the fundamental rights of Palestinian children, maintaining a conspicuous absence in their reporting.

Humanitarian workers on the ground, frequently find themselves unable to voice their concerns. Their acute awareness of the hardships inflicted upon Palestinian children is accompanied by a sense of restraint, often attributed to the influence of government donors who are cautious not to estrange Israel’s political and corporate echelons. Even during periods of heightened conflict, humanitarian entities possess limited leverage in compelling adherence to international legal norms.

Gazan Children with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

A recent study, an extensive inquiry delved into the safeguarding of refugee children in the Gaza Strip and Jordan, meticulously scrutinizing the perils faced by Palestinian children. This investigation discerned that the scale of assaults in Gaza has wrought harm of such magnitude that its repercussions will endure far beyond the confines of the immediate crisis, casting a shadow over the well-being of these children for years to come.

How the Blockade affects Children

Young ones, in the face of these adversities – be it the absence of clean water, adequate sanitation, or shelter from the harsh elements – find themselves exceptionally susceptible. These deplorable circumstances exact a toll not only on their physical well-being but also on the fragile fabric of their minds.

Tragically, the dearth of accessible water sources and proper sanitation facilities in Gaza has given rise to a heart breaking situation where children fall prey to diseases such as influenza and typhoid fever, as lamented by findings from DCI.
