The Sabra and Shatila massacre (1982) saw between 2,000 and 3,000 Palestinian and Lebanese civilians killed; a truly horrific event. Meanwhile, in Palestine, Israeli authorities expanded illegal settlements, imposed strict curfews, and detained activists. The IDF Armoured Corps were deployed both in Lebanon and throughout occupied Palestinian territories, enforcing a system of military rule.
City University’s Association for Student Action for Palestine issued the following statement on their Instagram handle:
Earlier today, students at City University staged a protest over Ben-Gad’s continued employment. In response, the university called the police to intervene and halt the demonstration.
In another social media post the activist wrote, ‘Ex IOF terrorist roaming in our lecture halls.’
