Commentators on Samaa TV & renowned scholar Tariq Jameel urge Pakistan not to emulate the immoral Indian army by targeting innocent civilians.

Sharia law stipulates the protection of women, children, and even trees, allowing only combatants to be targeted in defence during warfare.

Reports from Western media and other sources indicate that mosques in Pakistan have been attacked and destroyed. One such mosque isMasjid Bilal, which you can verify yourself by searching online. A UK-based channel, LBC, also reported that children were among the casualties.

Israeli drones are allegedly being used to attack Pakistani cities, raising questions: how are these drones entering Pakistani airspace? There are many unanswered questions, and people are expressing different opinions.

As Muslims, it is important to remember that even in war, we must follow rules and ethics. For example, while Indian forces have attacked mosques and killed civilians, including children and women, our response must be principled and measured.

Let’s take a look at what the Pakistani media and religious scholars are saying.

Samaa TV, which is banned in India, highlights a key distinction that should be made between extremist attacks (like those attributed to Modi’s regime) and Pakistan’s response. Commentators emphasize that while our places of worship and civilians have been targeted, our reply should not mirror that brutality.

Maulana Tariq Jameel, one of the most respected and widely followed scholars in Pakistan and even India, stated:

He emphasized that regardless of the enemy’s actions, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan must uphold Islamic values. Not every Pakistani may prioritize Islam, but as Muslims—whether we are in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or elsewhere—Islam comes first. Nationality is secondary.

Yes, Pakistan has made mistakes, and India has also committed questionable acts. But in this specific conflict, India has provided no concrete evidence for its actions. Don’t you think India must present proof?

Pakistan has released statements and evidence in the past two weeks. Regardless, attacks have happened, and they have targeted mosques and civilians, something even Western media has acknowledged.

As Muslims, we must uphold standards. Revenge alone cannot guide us. We must act decisively but justly. Islam is not just about saying “peace, peace”—we do defend ourselves, but with principles and ethics based on the Quran and Hadith.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade the killing of women and children, a command preserved through authentic chains of narration—Imam Malik from Nafi’, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who heard it from the Prophet himself.

I felt the need to post this because many people are panicking, misled by media sensationalism and fake news on social media. Even Indian media outlets are misusing images and videos from Gaza, passing them off as scenes from this conflict. Some of these are now being fact-checked, including by Pakistani outlets. But Indian channels have greater reach, and their content is being spread more widely.

So stay level-headed, stay balanced, and prioritize the Ummah, because that is our true identity.
