On Saturday, members of Hindutva groups, including BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal, and VHP, ruthlessly targeted Muslim shops in Haryana’s city of Ambala. In addition, they severely afflicting physically harm to the Muslim shop owners. The mob violence left many Muslims with their livelihoods destroyed.
The thugs were heard shouting provocative and incendiary slogans and continued to target innocent Muslims in several cities of Haryana with impunity and little or no action by the law enforcement authorities.
In Saha, Ambala, Muslim-owned shops were set ablaze while chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoed. The mob damaged the signboard and interior of a biryani shop and about 300 meters away, it also overturned a juice cart and a flower vendor’s cart, scattering goods on the road.
In addition, a Hindutva mob forced two shops on Nelson Road and Rai Market to shut down.
The thugs were heard shouting provocative and incendiary slogans and continued to target innocent Muslims in several cities of Haryana with impunity and little or no action by the law enforcement authorities. Although viral videos clearly showed the acts of vandalism and looting of the Muslim shops, the police dismissed them as minor incidents.
