A Knesset member said on Sunday that Yair Netanyahu was exiled to America after physically attacking his father.

Naama Lazimi also raised concerns about the costs of Sara Netanyahu’s travels and Yair’s security spending, reportedly 2.5 million shekels annually.

Knesset member Naama Lazimi said during a Knesset Finance Committee session on Sunday that Yair, son of Israeli Prime Minister, was exiled after an incident in which he physically attacked his father, Netanyahu.

During the session, Lazimi also raised questions about the costs of Sara Netanyahu’s travels, asking who was funding her trips and associated expenses.

Furthermore, Lazimi expressed concerns about the state’s spending on Yair Netanyahu’s security, which was reported last year to total 2.5 million shekels (approximately $700,000) annually. She questioned whether these funds were still being drawn from the state budget and connected the spending to claims that Yair had to leave Tel Aviv following an alleged confrontation with his father.

Yair Netanyahu has filed a defamation lawsuit against Naama Lazimi over her comment. According to Channel 14, Yair is seeking 300,000 shekels (approximately $84,000) in damages.

Netanyahu has headed the current government since December 2022. On November 21, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the situation in Gaza.

In July 2024, the prestigious Lancet journal asserts that the Israeli regime killed over 186,000 Palestinians.
