If you know that wearing the hijab is an obligation from Allah but have been struggling to embrace it, Ramadan offers the perfect opportunity to take that step.

This article will help you on your way in shaa Allah.

Observing hijab is an obligation, an act of worship. In doing so, you will draw closer to Allah if your intentions are pure in shaa Allah.

Take it one step at a time— trusting that the desire in your heart is a sign—Allah is calling you toward Him. That in itself is a blessing and should fill you with hope and happiness.

How powerful is that!

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their modesty, and not to reveal their adornment except what is apparent thereof. And let them draw their khimars (head coverings) over their chests…” (Qur’an 24:31)

Ramadan is a time of heightened spirituality and self-discipline. However, once Ramadan ends, it becomes easier to slip back into old habits, requiring greater effort to maintain the progress you’ve made.

If you feel nervous about wearing the hijab to school/university/work for the first time, consider letting people you know before they see you.

If you feel comfortable, embrace the opportunity to spark conversations. You could use it pie transition as a means to explain to non-Muslims how Ramadan is a time of spirituality in which you decided to become closer to your creator.

The people around you can make all the difference, and finding the right company begins with a sincere dua. Then, take steps to place yourself in environments filled with positive energy and people who bring you closer to Allah and will encourage your transitional journey.

Use Tahajjut prayers during Ramadan. Allah will open doors in ways you may never have imagined (in shaa Allah). You will begin to form an intimate friendship with Allah and He will guide you and help you in shaa Allah.
