Palestinian Civilians endeavoured to return to their homes in northern Gaza, following the completion of the hostage exchange. As they made their way back to their homes, Israeli soldiers opened fire upon them along Al Rasheed Road.

The displaced individuals, seen clutching mattresses and bedding, sought refuge by ducking for cover. Having been displaced for months, they had hoped that this day would provide a safe opportunity for travel. They anticipated ease with passing the numerous military checkpoints. However, they were met with gunfire. Simultaneously, Israeli drones were observed hovering in the sky.
