Israeli occupation forces have reportedly established positions across all elevations and military sites within the Quneitra province in southern Syria, according to Sputnik, citing Syrian sources.
The Israeli occupation army now exerts control over 95 percent of the region. Furthermore, Al-Mayadeen reported that Israeli forces have taken control of the Yarmouk riverbed and the Al-Wahda Dam—a critical resource supplying Jordan with water for agriculture and drinking, while also generating hydroelectric power for Syria. The dam is 110 meters long and has a storage capacity of 115 million cubic metres. Securing the dam effectively grants Israel dominion over one of Syria’s primary water sources.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated:
“Israeli forces entered the village of Koya and the historic Al-Wahda Dam near the Syrian-Jordanian border, and were stationed in strategic locations, after warnings to residents to surrender their weapons in the area.”
Israeli forces, accompanied by two bulldozers and four armored personnel carriers, advanced into the Al-Maqriz area, near the village of Saida, in the area of the administrative border between the provinces of Daraa and Quneitra in southern Syria.
Additionally, Al-Mayadeen claimed that the Israeli army has seized a total of 440 square kilometers of Syrian territory. Reports suggest that, within the past week alone, the Israeli military conducted 450 airstrikes targeting 50 military sites in Syria.
