Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh – In a deeply disturbing incident, three Muslim children were assaulted and coerced into chanting “Jai Shri Ram” by an unidentified man. Police said the three victims are aged 6, 11 and 13. The attack reportedly occurred last month in Ratlam but surfaced recently after a video of the assault was widely circulated on social media.
The video shows the children being slapped and hit with slippers repeatedly, even as they comply with the man’s demand to chant “Jai Shri Ram.” The violence escalates when one of the boys, crying out in pain, says “Allah.” In response, the assailant hits him again, angrily questioning him, “What did you say, Allah?”
On Thursday, the children’s relatives and community members gathered at the Manak Chowk police station to demand justice. A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the unidentified man. Authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and have booked the accused under relevant sections of the law.
The shocking video has sparked outrage, with community leaders and activists condemning the act as a hate crime. Many have called for swift action to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure the safety of minorities in the region.
The incident highlights growing concerns over communal tensions in India and raises questions about the protection of vulnerable communities.
