• Adin Ross had a conversation with Sheikh Uthman, where they discussed Sneako’s positive transformation after converting to Islam.
• Islam’s growth worldwide cannot be overseen. However, guidance is ultimately in the hands of Allah (swt).
Sneako recently took streamer Adin Ross, who is Jewish, on a tour of Toronto Islamic centre, which was live-streamed to viewers. During the stream, Ross experienced key aspects of Islamic practice, including a demonstration of salah (prayer) and how to perform wudu (ablution). He also had the opportunity to engage in a thoughtful conversation with renowned da’ee and muhaddit, Sheikh Uthman via video call.
During the video call. Ross said to Sheikh Uthman:
“I’ve been around Sneako, I’ve know him before he converted. And I will say this, I’ve noticed a lot of maturity and change and you’ve adapted (looking at Sneako) and become a better person. Him and I have butt heads before on stupid stuff, stuff that you could basically move passed….watching Sneako’s path and progress….is very very inspirational.”
Sheikh Uthman responded,
“I’ve met…Young people who used to be influenced by drugs and useless things. Having watched him (Sneako) transition, give up partying, give up gambling, they have left those evils and left that life. So Sneako may not even realise the positive impact he’s having around the world.”
Whilst being shown how to perform wudu (ablution), Ross said to Sheikh Uthman,
“If you guys are doing this this many times a day, you guys can’t get sick from this”
Sheikh Uthman responded, “Cleanliness is a part of faith.” Sheikh Uthman also explained to Aidin how nose hair has been scientifically proven to catch bacterial.
We pray that Adin is guided towards the truth. However, ultimately, guidance is in the hands of Allah (swt). Allah guides whom He wills, and only He is the turner of hearts who can bestow true guidance.
“Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided." Surah Al-Qasas (28:56)
Islam has a projected growth rate of 28.5% from 2010 to 2030, the Pew Research Centre asserts.
This exponential expansion mirrors the global pace at which Islam is proliferating. Islam stands as the swiftest-growing faith on the planet, boasting a 1.84% growth rate and anticipating a population of 2.9 billion by the year 2050. Conversely, among the world’s largest religions, including Islam, Christianity and Hinduism, the growth rates stand at 1.38% and 1.52%.
If you are already a Muslim, the following ayah should send a chill down your spine:
“And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.” (47:38)
This verse highlights that Allah (swt) has the power to replace individuals or groups with others who are more faithful or obedient to His commands.
Activist, brother Shaun King, has endured a similar path as brother Sneako regarding losing his social media accounts. Here’s what King had to say about this in relation to him becoming a Muslim.
