• Israels elite air units reserve force heavily ruptured after 2 soldiers killed and 7 seriously injured.

• Israels lack of human lives is exemplified even more by the deaths of there own soldiers.

Two Israeli soldiers have been killed overnight and seven seriously wounded in the southern Gaza city of Rafah after an Israeli IDF helicopter crashed amid the ongoing Gaza genocide.

The Israeli army has said in a statement that the ‘Yanshuf’ or ‘Owl helicopter’ in English has crashed whilst landing in the Rafah area of Gaza. The killed soldiers were members of the elite air unit’s reserve force.

Since the Gaza genocide began on October 7, the Israeli government’s approach has drawn widespread criticism for its disregard for both its soldiers and Palestinian civilians. This war’s continuation and the incident of the military aircraft reflect a strategy that prioritises military objectives over human lives, even Israeli lives, as evidenced by the unnecessary risks imposed on Israeli troops, often leading to deadly confrontations in densely populated areas. This same recklessness intensifies Palestinian suffering, with civilian areas frequently targeted under the pretext of combating terrorism. The question arises for those who are still in doubt of the magnitude of the bloodthirsty Israeli aggression: if a helicopter being used by one of the most elite air units belonging to Israel is destroyed with the IDF indicating it was not destroyed in an ‘enemy attack’ then what about the lives and risks amongst every single Palestinian child from the east of the west bank to the west of the Gaza strip who were also killed with carelessness or technical glitches?

The failure to protect Palestinian non-combatants demonstrates a deeper lack of commitment to genuine peace or diplomacy. Instead, policies that cause mass destruction, displace families, and contribute to the cycle of violence highlight the indifference towards Palestinian lives. Moreover, the ongoing siege and blockade of Gaza have deprived millions of people of basic necessities, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

By continuing this brutal genocide, the Israeli leadership sends a troubling message that both its soldiers and Palestinian civilians are expendable in pursuit of unsustainable military goals. True peace can only be achieved when Palestinian lives are valued more and reckless policies are replaced by meaningful dialogue and humanitarian considerations.
