• Israeli Politician Shocking Remarks Highlight Crimes and Extremism Within the Regime
• Israels extremism stretches beyond government benches
Recent statements by former Israeli Knesset member Moshe Feiglin have sparked outrage and shed light on the extremist rhetoric that has become alarmingly common among Israeli politicians. In a televised interview, Feiglin quoted Adolf Hitler to justify the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza, saying:
“As Hitler said, ‘I cannot live if one Jew is left,’ we can’t live here if one Islamo-Nazi remains in Gaza”
This egregious statement is part of a larger pattern of incendiary and violent rhetoric from members of the Knesset.
Feiglin’s History of Extremism
Feiglin, a former member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party and founder of the Zehut Party, is known for his extremist views. He has previously called for the complete destruction of Gaza, likening the desired devastation to the bombings of Dresden and Hiroshima during World War II. In his view, Israel should aim to create a “Hebrew Gaza” and remove Palestinians in their entirety, asserting that Jews are the rightful owners of the land
Extremist Allies in Power
Religious Zionist party leader MK Bezalel Smotrich and Ben Gvir, minister of national security
Feiglin’s rhetoric mirrors the alarming statements made by other Knesset members of Netanyahu’s coalition government. Among these figures are Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, both known for their hardline positions and inflammatory remarks. Ben-Gvir, who holds the position of National Security Minister, has a long history of provocative actions and statements against Palestinians. Smotrich, the Finance Minister, has similarly advocated for harsh measures against Palestinians, including the destruction of Palestinian villages.
Calls for Nuclear Strikes
The extremism within Netanyahu’s government has even extended to suggestions of using nuclear weapons against Gaza. Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, for instance, openly discussed the possibility of deploying a nuclear bomb on Gaza, a statement that underscores the extreme and dangerous rhetoric prevalent among some Israeli leaders. Such statements not only incite violence but also violate international norms and laws designed to prevent genocidal actions.
International Condemnation and Legal Implications
The international community has expressed deep concern over these statements and actions. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has previously issued interim rulings urging Israel to prevent and punish incitement to genocide. Despite these legal warnings, there has been a lack of accountability for Israeli officials who continue to make inflammatory statements. The ongoing genocide in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of over 37,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis exacerbated by such extremist rhetoric.
The reality of Israeli extremism
The statements made by Moshe Feiglin and other Israeli politicians highlight a disturbing trend of extremist and violent rhetoric within the Israeli regime. This rhetoric not only fuels the ongoing genocide but also poses significant dangers to regional stability and international peace. The international community has failed to uphold its laws in stopping the genocide from continuing. The reality of the matter is, even if the leaders of Israel were held to account it will not flush out the extremism that is rampant within Israel. Majority of Israelis in a poll in Feburary by the Israeli Democracy Institute believed that humanitarian assistance should not enter Gaza even if it were to avoid Hamas. A state whose majority supports extremist actions of genocide and the starvation of children is indeed a terror state. Israel is a terrorist state.
