A shocking poll published on Thursday by left-leaning Israeli news outlet Haaretz has suggested a shocking 82% of Jewish Israelis support the forced displacement of Palestinian people from Gaza.
Over half of Jewish Israelis also back expelling native Palestinians who are citizens of Israel.
In 2003, support for these views was far lower at 45% and 31%, respectively.
When asked if the Israeli army should act like the biblical Israelites under Joshua in Jericho, killing all inhabitants of a conquered city, a terrifying 47% agreed.
Secular Israelis also share this extreme sentiment, with 69% supporting the expulsion of Gaza’s population.
The trend appears to be far stronger with the younger generation of 40 years and below.
Among Jewish Israelis under 40, 66% support expelling native Palestinian citizens, and 58% support the idea of killing all inhabitants of a conquered city.
Is Israel an extremist state?
The findings come after one and a half years of genocide against the Gazan people, with the death toll potentially exceeding the 180,000 mark according to one of the world’s highest-impact academic journals and one of the oldest medical journals still in publication, The Lancet.
According to a poll recently by Israel’s Channel 13, the majority of Israelis, 53%, oppose humanitarian aid into Gaza, knowing the situation is dire with thousands of children at risk of starvation.
The mainstream media as well as pro-Israeli pundits have blamed the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza on Hamas or, at the very least, the Israeli government and far-right ministers; however, Israeli polling shows that the majority of Israelis also have these extreme sentiments amongst them.
The terrorist entity of ISIS was named a terrorist entity because of the extremism and barbarism within it, but when the majority of Israelis support the barbarism done to Gaza and more civilians and children have died at the hands of Israel than ISIS, many continue to raise the concept that Israel is indeed a terrorist state.
